Nursery I

Ms. PamMs. Pam C. joined the ACR team in March of 1990. She proudly holds the record for longest working employee at ACR. She enjoys working with the infants. She grew up in Houston and is from a family of 14 children. Ms. Pam has been married for 18 years to her husband Michael. They have three sons and one stepdaughter: Michael Jr., DaMarus, Andre, and Amorica. The most recent addition to their family is Jace, their grandson, who is 20 months. Ms. Pam enjoys reading, collecting angels, coins, and Disney movies. She also loves to go fishing.

Ms. HeatherMs. Heather C. joined the ACR team in August of 2006. She graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1994. This year she will begin taking classes to acquire her Child Development Associates. She has two years of experience working with infants and toddlers. She enjoys bike riding and watching her daughter, Brittany, dance. Ms. Heather also has a son named, Brady, who is three years old and attends A Child’s Reflection.

Nursery II

Ms. CathyMs. Cathy W. joined the ACR team in February of 2007. She has been in the child care profession for 14 years. This year she plans to get her Child Development Associates. She loves working with children and watching them grow. She has been married for ten years and has a wonderful daughter named Amber. Ms. Cathy and her family enjoy swimming, camping, and most of all spending time together.

Ms. Nancy E. is currently on maternity leave. She has been one of our Assistant Teachers in Nursery One and has been with us since September of 2008. She has had previous experience with children working as a nanny, and she also worked with infants and toddlers at another childcare facility. Ms. Nancy also has a two year old son, Brandon, who is in our Toddler Two-B program, and and infant. In her spare time, she likes to spend quality time with her husband and son, and she also likes to go to the movies when she gets the chance.

Toddler I

Ms. Lisa Ms. Lisa A. is an Assistant Teacher in ACR’s Nursery One program, and she has been with us since June of 2008. She has two grown children, a son and a daughter. Her daughter, Ms. Lisa G., who is also a part of the ACR staff. Ms. Lisa is also a grandmother and one of her grandsons, Izaiah, attends our Pre-K One program. When she is not here caring for our infants, Ms. Lisa likes to go shopping at Kirkland’s and Ross. She also enjoys going to the movies and attending an Astros or Rockets game.

Ms. Chandra Ms. Chandra A. has been a member of the ACR team for more than two years and is an assistant teacher in Toddler I. She has many years of experience in child care and has raised five children of her own. Ms. Chandra's granddaughter is currently in our Pre-Kindergarten program.


Toddler II

Ms. LakishaMs. Lakisha G. joined the ACR team in February of 2007. She has over nine years of experience working with children in a professional setting. She has attended courses to earn her Child Development Associates in the near future. When Lakisha isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her three beautiful children. Also, she enjoys shopping and helping her children raise their lambs. Overall, Lakisha is happy and thinks ACR is a great place to work at.

Ms. LaCherylMs. LaCheryl H. joined the ACR team in March of 2007. She has completed courses in communications at Texas State Technical College. She moved back home to Houston to work with children, which is her passion. LaCheryl has over six years of experience working with children and plans to earn a CDA. She enjoys traveling, watching cartoons and reading with her beautiful daughter, Gia.

Pre-School A

Ms. KimMs. Kim H. joined ACR in 2007. She has taught in a pre-school environment for the past seven years. She has been married for 23 years to her husband, Mike, and they have an eleven year old daughter who just started junior high school. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and crafts.

Ms. ChevonneMs. Chevonne C. is an Assistant Teacher in ACR’s Toddler Two-A program and has been with us since August of 2008. She graduated from Mayde Creek High School in 2003. She has had lots of experience with kids by babysitting for friends and family. When she gets a chance, she likes to go swimming, play card games and watch movies. She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Brunswick.

Ms. ChristyMs. Christy J. joined the ACR team in August of 2006. She began working in child care in 1997 and before that she was a substitute teacher for Spring Branch I.S.D. Ms. Christy graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Ms. Christy enjoys working with children because she likes the children’s expressions on their faces when they figure out how to do something. When Ms. Christy isn’t working, she enjoys riding her bike, playing video games, and working on fill-it-in puzzles. Also, she enjoys spending time with her dog and with her nine nieces and two nephews.

Pre-School B

Ms. MariaMs. Maria N. joined the ACR team in August of 2006. She has three years of Bilingual Education at Washington State University. Later she moved to Ferndale, WA and for seven years ran an at home daycare where she was licensed to care for twelve children with a helper. Later she worked for a Head Start Program, where she received Early Childhood Education Training. She wants to continue her education and acquire a Child Development Associates. Ms. Maria has three wonderful children and enjoys reading, walking, and listening to music.

Ms. MariaMs. Alma G. joined the ACR team in March of 2006. She has a Child Development Associate and a degree in Bilingual Education. Her work experience includes over 10 years at private schools with children ranging in ages from 9 months thru 5 years of age. Ms. Alma enjoys singing, dancing, and completing art projects with her students. Her hobbies include swimming, playing golf, and walking her dogs with her two children, Andre and Kelsey. During her free time she likes to read books and collect western and Texan trinkets.

Pre-School C

Ms. Janna Ms. Janna S. rejoined the ACR team in the summer of 2005. She was ACR’s Nursery II teacher and currently is the lead teacher for the Pre-School One. She has over 16 years of experience in child care and has an Associate’s Degree in Human Development from her home country of Finland. She also earned the hours required for a Child Development Associates. Ms. Jaana has a husband, John and a daughter, Jonna. The newest addition to her family is a new puppy named Lola, which is a Chihuahua. In her spare time, she likes to read, cook, and travel.

Ms. Mary Ms. Mary T. rejoined the ACR team back in January of 2009. She is currently an Assistant Teacher in our Pre-School One classroom. She has had many years of experience with children and enjoys children of all ages. In her spare time, Mary loves to read Christian literature and eat out at Los Cuco’s.

Pre-Kindergarten A

Ms. Sanarya Ms. Sanarya J. is an Assistant Teacher in Pre-Kindergarten One and has been with ACR since September of 2008. She obtained her degree from AL_MAMON University College in Baghdad, Iraq. Sanarya is married and has a son, Shwan, who attends ACR’s afternoon and summer Grade-School programs. In her free time, she likes to spend quality time with her family. Sanarya also likes to go shopping and out to eat.

Ms. NicoleMs. Nicole B. is an Assistant Teacher in Pre-Kindergarten One and has been been with ACR since June of 2008. She graduated from Mayde Creek High School in 2007, and she is currently finishing up her basics at Lonestar College- CyFair. Nicole has had previous experience working with children in another childcare facility. When she gets the chance, Nicole likes to shop, go out to eat, and hang out with friends.

Ms. AmandaMs. Amanda C. is a recent graduate of the University of Texas with a BBA. She assisted in our summer camp program and is now leading one of our Pre-Kindergarten classes. Ms. Amanda lives in Katy with her fiancé and her two dogs.

Pre-Kindergarten B

Ms. Paola Ms. Paola B. is currently an Assistant Teacher in ACR’s Pre-School Two program and has been with us since July of 2008. She loves children and had her first child in August 2009.

Ms. Phaedra G. rejoined the ACR team in August of 2005. She previously worked at ACR from 1990-1993. Ms. Phaedra received a Child Development Associate in 1992. Her favorite age group to work with is our Pre-School students; however, she loves children of all ages. Ms. Phaedra is married and has two teenage daughters, Jordan and Abbey. When Ms. Phaedra isn’t working, she enjoys reading, painting, and taking care of her many pets.

Bridge

Ms. CaraMs. Cara P. is the Office Assistant and has been with ACR since August of 2007. She graduated from James E. Taylor High School in 2006, and she is currently studying as a major in Photography and Digital Media at the University of Houston’s main campus. She also is working on a minor in Art History. Eventually, Cara would like to also obtain her Child Development Associates. Before coming to ACR, Cara babysat children of various ages and at one point was even a live in Nanny. Now, in her free time, she babysits for many of ACR’s families. Whenever she gets a moment, she enjoys traveling, scrapbooking, crocheting, painting, and photography.

Ms. Rebecca Ms. Rebecca O. joined the ACR team in June of 2007 as an assistant teacher for the Summer Camp Grade School program. She enjoyed the experience so much, that she decided to stay with us and lead our bridge program. Ms. Rebecca has completed a medical assisting course (N.I.T.) and externship at Texas Children’s Hospital in 2006. Rebecca has a daughter and a step-daughter and both attend ACR during public school off-seasons. In her free time, she enjoys camping, power kiting, and almost anything involving the outdoors.

Ms. Amber Ms. Amber W. is currently an Assistant Teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten Two classroom and has been with us since January of 2008. She has completed 60 college hours at West Texas A&M University as an elementary education major and is currently attending Lonestar College- CyFair in pursuit of a degree in elementary education. Amber has had lots of experience working with children, including participation in P.A.L.S. during high school and working at other childcare facilities. When she isn’t working, Amber likes to scrapbook, play a game of soccer, or play the piano.

Grade School

Mr. Jarad M. is an Assistant Teacher in ACR’s Grade-School program in the afternoons and during the summer. He joined the ACR team in February of 2008. In the past, Jared has worked with this age group at another childcare facility and enjoyed it very much. Jarad is currently working on his Child Development Associates and would one day like to operate a childcare center of his own.

Administration

Ms. Dionne Ms. Dionne S. has been leading the ACR team since May of 2005. She attended the University of Houston and studied Early Childhood Education and Psychology. She has had experience in child care since 1997. Ms. Dionne enjoys assisting the teachers create a fun, educational, and loving environment for the children in their care. Helping parents feel secure in their child care choices is a top priority for her. She has been married for eleven years and has a little girl named Sophia, and three feisty cats! When she is not busy, she enjoys scrapbooking, playing Bunco, and taking walks with her family.

Ms. Charlene Ms. Charlene M. rejoined the ACR team in October of 2005. She moved to Houston in 1998 with her husband and youngest son when her husband received a job transfer. Prior to moving to Houston, Ms. Charlene was a teacher’s aide for two years. After her youngest son graduated from Taylor High School and returned to Florida, she had an empty nest and needed something to do. So, she began working for ACR in 2000 as the Assistant Director and worked there for 2 years and then left to work at another facility. After working at the other facility for 2 years, she returned to ACR as the Morning Assistant Director. She is glad to have returned. She loves the staff, families, and most of all the children at ACR!

 

Ms. Kellie Ms. Kelly R. is our Assistant Director of Education. She has also worked as an Assistant Teacher in one of our Pre-School classrooms. She has been with ACR since January of 2009. She has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of Houston, and she is currently pursuing her teacher’s certification in 8-12th grade Science. Kelly says that she has always had a job dealing with children, and that after previously working at a private school for three years; she decided to become a certified teacher. In her free time, she loves to spend be with her husband and son, Garrett, who attends ACR’s toddler program. As a family, they all enjoy going hiking, biking, and camping.

And More..

Ms. FabiolaMs. Fabiola E. joined the ACR team for the 2009 school year. She is working all of our different classrooms to help cover for other teachers when needed. Ms. Fabiola enjoys playing with her young nephews, and working out daily.
